Are the pitas sold at Whole Foods Market Kosher?Angel Bakeries Artisan Pitas are sold at Whole Foods Market locations throughout the US and Canada. Whole Foods carries our pitas in their Bakery Department, which they are received in their original, bulk-packaging and warmed-up by Bakery staff. Since Whole Foods does not maintain Kosher certification for their in-store bakery facilities, the Angel Pitas sold at WFM lose their Kosher status—which is why the Hechsher / Kosher symbol is not found on the product packaging.

Are Angel Bakeries' Artisan Pocket Pitas certified Vegan?Yes! Our Artisan Pita lineup is certified Vegan by The Vegan Society. For full program details visit The Vegan Society website. Vegan Society Certificate for Review: Vegan Certificate – The Vegan Society

What is the best way to warm-up the pitas?Angel Bakeries’ Artisan Pitas can be prepared many different ways to meet your needs and personal tastes! Warm-up our Artisan Pitas in the oven, with a steamer, or the microwave (yes, we said microwave!) to recreate the fresh-from-the-oven experience at home! Warming Instructions Pitas do not need to be thawed before warming -- Our Artisan Pitas are fully baked and flash-frozen to ensure freshness! Our warming instructions are intended as a guide to help get you started on the road to fresh pita—please check operation manuals for your specific equipment, and remember that safety comes first! Conventional / Toaster Oven With oven rack in the middle / centered position, pre-Heat Oven to 400 - 450 degrees Fahrenheit prior to warming. Remove desired number of pitas from package (do NOT place plastic in the oven!) Place pita(s) directly on oven rack (or a sheet pan) with the “top” (the rounded, darker side) of the pita facing up. Optional: Angel Bakeries’ Artisan Pitas taste great fresh from the oven—but added moisture makes them heavenly! Lightly mist the “top” with a spray bottle before placing in the oven, or use a short steam cycle (if available). Warm pita(s) for 4-5 minutes Remove pita(s) from the oven using oven mitts (or similar suitable safety equipment). Check that the pita(s) are warmed through. If the pita feels cold in spots, return to the oven for 30 seconds and check again. Repeat as necessary. Once the pita(s) are warmed through, remove from the oven and allow to cool for five minutes. ENJOY! Toaster Remove a single pita from the package (do NOT place plastic in the toaster!) Place pita on a flat cutting surface with the “top” (the rounded, darker side) facing up. Using a knife or by carefully pinching and pulling with your fingers, separate the “top” and “bottom” halves of the pita along the seam of the pita—leaving two full circular-shaped pieces. Place pieces is toaster (pieces may need to be trimmed to fit to fit safely—please consult the owner’s manual for your toaster) and toast on desired settings. Remove pita halves from toaster. ENJOY Microwave Microwave oven warming times may vary based on the strength of the microwave and how long the pitas have been removed from the freezer. If warming more than one pita at a time, additional 15 second warming cycles may be required. 1. Remove a single pita from the package (do NOT place plastic in the microwave!), place on a microwave-safe plate with the “top” (the rounded, darker side) of the pita facing down. 2. Place the pita in the microwave and warm for 20-30 seconds on HIGH setting. 3. Remove pita from the microwave and flip so that the “top” of the pita faces up. 4. Return to the microwave and warm for an additional 15-30 seconds. 5. Remove pita from the microwave and check that it is warm. If the pita feels cold in spots, return to the microwave for 10-15 seconds. 6. When the pita is ready, remove from the microwave 7. ENJOY!
